Body Flow Yoga – Yoga Teachers & Studio Session

Shooting Body Flow Yoga’s Teachers and new studio space in Melbourne was a fantastic experience. It was a fun filled weekend of meeting owner, Sophie Bunn, and her yoga teachers and seeing what their inspiration was for the session. We headed over to lululemon on Chapel Street to have the Ladies fitted out in some pretty amazing yoga gear. Then with excitement… We stepped into the new yoga studio space to prepare for the following day’s shoot. It is a loft style space with vaulted ceilings, gorgeous floors, luminous windows, and it was so fitting to have this new space to shoot these incredible yoga teachers in. I was excited!

The next morning we started our session in a private yoga space to shoot all of the lovely teachers together: Sophie, Kate, Linda, Belinda, Jowing, & Emma

We focused on individual portraits in the morning followed by a few beautiful prenatal yoga and partner yoga shots.

Later  in the afternoon we moved to the new yoga space to begin capturing the essence of Body Flow Yoga and the principles that Sophie has weaved into her teaching. Through my images I hoped to capture her principles of:

Body flow yoga is based on the 7 Principles of Yoga Practice:

1. Yoga is playing
2. Yoga is grounding
3. Yoga is aligning
4. Yoga is breathing
6. Yoga is moving
5. Yoga is resisting
7. Yoga is accepting

As a yoga teacher myself, I love shooting yoga asanas and movement, and naturally pick up on yogis flow and style. It was so beautiful shooting this session and felt enlivened with wisdom of Sophie’s style and her studio. I urge anyone in the Melbourne area to check out Body Flow Yoga and roll out your mat at one of their classes. Get ready to align, breathe, and move!
